Dog Training Tips

You have a dog and you are now a self- proclaimed dog owner. You also resolved to train your dog and you will soon be a full fledged dog trainer in your own right. A good place to start is with some basic dog training tips.

Before you start on that dog training journey, there are some dog training tips that you should take into consideration about. Dog training is not a simple task and will require a lot from you: physical strength, mental abilities and even emotional issues.

Here are some dog training tips that will help you carry- out your actual dog training.

1. Remember, dogs are dogs, humans are humans. Dogs are still animals and can never be human. Remember that they will always take time to learn a trick unlike human beings could. You should never put the dog on the level of capabilities a human has. In short, do not expect your dog to get everything you say all at once. You do not have the same language.

2. Have patience, more patience and even more patience. Dog training requires a lot of patience from the trainer. As you do not speak the same language, training can be difficult, tedious and frustrating at times. It is up to the trainer to show some patience because the dog can never go to your level.

3. Avoid using punishment. Dogs have feelings too and they are hurt when you teach them using the punishment method. Instead of using punishment when they commit mistakes, try using the reward system. Reward your dog when you are satisfied with its performance. Never hurt a dog for not being able to roll for the first time.

4. Train your dogs separately. If you have other dogs or pets, and you have just begun dog training, it is recommended that you train a dog on its own first. The presence of other dogs or other pets may cause distraction with the dog you are training. As much as possible, train dogs separately and when they get better, gradually put dogs together for a higher level of learning.

5. Be creative. Stretch your creativity limits. Test and try. Remember that dogs have very little to no attention span at all. Develop their attention span and interest to training by being creative. If you feel like your dog likes a certain song or music, use it.

The best dog training tip is to enjoy what you are doing with your dog. Happy dog training!
